The basket is not only practical, but also impresses with its very special design: Banana fibers are kept together with a net shaped pattern of white cotton cords, creating a beautiful light-dark contrast. The elegant funnel-shaped lid offers even more space compared to baskets with a flat lid. The basis for the basket is a stable metal frame, so that it always retains its shape.

Main material: Banana Fibre
Our baskets are made from plant fibers. They therefore wonderfully smell and feel like nature.
Banana fibres are the fibres of the layered trunks of agriculturally used banana trees. The intense brown color occurs naturally when the fibres are dried under the sun for about a week. Then the individual strips are rolled into the characteristic, approximately 6 mm thick strands. Only old, dying banana trees are used for this material. This enables these crops to have a second life as a dimensionally stable and robust raw material for many handcrafted baskets here at Soeji.
Other materials: Cotton, Metal frame
